IMPORTANT: To properly operate and maintain your BAYCO Locking Ring the
following instructions are provided. Please read with care as improper
handling or maintenance may cause a hazardous condition.
CAUTION: Do not modify your BAYCO Locking Ring for any reason. It can
result in a hazardous condition due to operating difficulties or operation
malfunction. Disassembly or tampering will void the product
warranty.
Installation: The locking ring comes with the following components: aluminum
locking ring (two halves), two stainless steel 10-24 nylon lock nuts, two
stainless steel10-24- ¾" bolts, and two bronze arms (over flared) for
retrofit requirements.
To remove old bronze arms you will need a
center punch, hammer and snap ring tool. Remove snap rings from pin
and carefully hammer out pins from elbow base. You will need to retain
the springs, pins and snap rings for installation of new arms. To install
new bronze arms you will need a spring holder to align the spring while
installing arm into adapter. Arms should always engage outward by
force of the spring. Locate arms and re-insert pin and attach snap rings
to secure pins in place.
adapter and form a closed circle. Insert bolt and thread on lock nut.
Ensure both nuts on the ring are tight and secure. If you are installing
the ring on an older model that has the elbow bolted to the adapter with
a nut on the bottom, you will be required to reverse the bolt
configuration. Remove all four bolts and re-fasten with the nuts on the
top of the flange. This will provide the necessary clearance for the ring
movements.
Operating Instructions: To attach drop elbow to fuel station adapter, lift
Locking ring to the highest point on elbow and squeeze arms in equally,
enough to fit over the adapter. A solid connection should result in the
arms "snapping" into connection with the adapter, and the locking ring
able to drop to the bottom of the arms. This will prevent the arms from
engaging and allowing the adapter to release its connection.
remove the elbow lift ring again to the highest point on the elbow and
engage arms inward to allow removal of elbow from adapter.

Care & Handling: Bayco drop elbows are tested at the factory and are
in proper working condition when shipped. Drop elbows are designed to
be tough and to provide long service with reasonable care and
handling. To ensure long service Bayco elbows should not be thrown,
dropped or dragged; such actions may compromise the integrity and
reduce the service life of the product.
Inspect for Damage: Locking rings can fail to operate if not properly
maintained. Frequently check for damage, loose or missing parts.
