5.2

Protection functions

The room thermostat is equipped with protection functions for
avoiding damage to the overall installation.

5.2.1 Valve protection function

In periods without valve activation (e. g. outside the heating peri-
od), all valves are opened cyclically. This avoids a clogging of the
valves (parameters 190 and 191).

5.2.2 Antifreeze protection

The antifreeze function is only active if the life-style function
"Switch off" is set.
When the "Switch off"
stat has an anti-freeze function (parameter 161). When the tempera-
ture falls below the antifreeze protection temperature, all connected
actuators are activated depending on the NC/NO parametrisation,
and the valves are opened.

5.2.3 Dew point detection (RD x5203-60 only)

To be able to measure the dew point, a dew point sensor (TPS) must
be connected to the room thermostat and parametrised via para-
meter 040.
If the "Cooling" operating mode is active and a dew point
sensor is connected and parametrised, the actuator output
must be activated resp. deactivated, depending on parame-
ter 110.
