Intended Use
The Polar Laser is intended for generating laser lighting effects and is operated with the inbuilt controller.
It is intended for professional use only.
This product may only be supplied with power by the enclosed power supply unit.
The safety regulations and standards for laser operation must be complied with at all times.
The product may only be used indoors; never outdoors. Contact with moisture, for example in bathrooms,
must be avoided.
Any other use than that described above is not permitted and involves additional risks, such as injuries to the
eyes, short circuits and fi re.
The product may not be modifi ed or rebuilt nor should the casing be opened.
Warning, this product includes a powerful laser. If the safety instructions are not
observed, there is a high risk of injury.
Read the operating instructions in full before assembling and starting operations with
the laser and observe all the safety instructions included here without fail.

safety instructions! We do not assume liability for any resulting damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper
use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty will be void in such
cases.
The exclamation mark indicates important information in these operating instructions.
Please read all the instructions before using this device; they contain important informa-
tion on its correct operation.
• The user must comply with the relevant national accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment.
• This product may only be assembled, commissioned and operated by suitably qualifi ed professionals and
only in compliance with the requirements stated in this operating manual.
• Adjustments or maintenance should only be carried out by trained professionals who are aware of the
dangers. Improperly executed adjustments might result in dangerous laser radiation.
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation to the product is not permitted.
• Before the product is fi rst put into operation, the operator must notify the responsible accident insurer and
the public authority responsible for occupational health and safety (generally the industrial inspectorate)
and name a person who will be accountable for laser safety.
• When operating the laser equipment, always make sure that the laser beam is directed so that no one is in
the projection area and that unintentional refl ected beams (e.g. from refl ective objects) cannot be directed
into areas where people are present.
• Laser radiation can be dangerous, if the laser beam or its refl ection enters unprotected eyes. Therefore,
before using the laser equipment, familiarise yourself with the statutory regulations and instructions for
operating such a laser device.
• Never look into the laser beam and never point it at people or animals. Laser radiation may result in injuries
to the eyes or skin.
• Do not point the laser beam at mirrors or other refl ective surfaces. The uncontrolled, refl ected beam may
strike people or animals.
• Never leave the laser in operation unattended.
• If possible, restrict the range of radiation by using screens or partitions.
• Mark the range of the laser by barriers or by using warning signs.
• Wherever possible, direct the laser in such a way that it does not cross eye level.
• Caution: if operation settings or procedures other than those described here in these instructions are used,
it could result in exposure to dangerous radiation.
• This product is provided with a Class 3R Laser. Laser signs in different languages are included in the pack-
age. If the sign on the laser is not written in the language of your country, please affi x the appropriate sign
onto the laser.
• Never look directly into the laser beam when the device is in operation. The intense light rays could tem-
porarily impair your eyesight. Moreover, they may trigger epileptic seizures for vulnerable persons. This
applies in particular to epileptics.
• The device contains no parts that are to be serviced by the user.. Therefore, do not open the device.
• As power supply, only use the supplied mains adapter.
• Only connect the power adaptor to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply. Before plugging
in the power adaptor, check whether the voltage stated on the power adaptor complies with the voltage of
your electricity supplier.
• Never connect or disconnect power adaptors if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the power unit from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use the grips on the plug.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power unit from the mains socket during storms.

• The device is not a toy. Children and adolescents cannot judge the dangers of electrical devices and lasers.
• Do not leave packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for children.
• Inspect the laser unit from time to time for damage. Should the laser unit or the power supply unit show any

damage, disconnect them from the power supply (unplug the power supply unit). Do not use the product
afterwards, but take it to a specialist workshop.
• Never pour liquids over electrical appliances and never leave objects fi lled with liquids (e.g. vases) in the
vicinity of the device. You run the risk of causing a fi re or a fatal electric shock. If liquids enter the device,
immediately disconnect it from the power supply, unplug the power supply unit from the mains and consult
an expert.
• Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or water sprays, strong vibrations or heavy me-
chanical stress.
• Do not place open fl ames, such as burning candles, on or close to the device.
• Do not leave the device in operation when it is unattended. For safety reasons, unplug from the mains
socket after each operation.
• Do not use the device in a tropical climate.
• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise that are not answered
in these operating instructions, please contact our technical advisory service or another specialist.
• Also observe any further safety instructions in the individual sections of this operating guide.

Installation/Setup
The assembly and the installation of the device must be carried out by a specialist who
is familiar with the hazards and the relevant regulations. Repairs, operation and mainte-
nance of the product may only be carried out by qualifi ed personnel.
Take care not to place or install the device where it will be exposed to shaking, vibration,
dust, heat, cold and moisture. Furthermore, keep the product away from strong trans-
formers or motors.
The device must be mounted out of normal reach.
When installing the product ensure that the adaptor's power cord is not jammed or dam-
aged by sharp edges.
During installation and service work, the area below the installation location must be
cordoned off.
The installation surface, or mounting fi xture, must be designed so that it can withstand
10 times the loading capacity for at least 1 hour without permanent damaging deforma-
tion.
It is also essential that the device is secured by means of a second safety restraint,
which is independent of the proper mounting supports, when it is installed in an
elevated position. If the main supports fail, no part of the installation should be able to
falling down.
Observe all the relevant regulations when mounting/installing the device.
Keep a free area of 15 cm around the housing to ensure unhindered heat dissipation.
Otherwise, the laser may overheat.
Installation approval:
Before using for the fi rst time and after any signifi cant modifi cations, the installation (including the electrical
connections) must be checked by a specialist.
An annual check by a technical expert is required.
At least every four years, an acceptance inspection must be carried out by a technical expert.
The laser can be mounted free-standing or fi xed to the ceiling or wall using the support provided.
Installation on the stand
• Mount the stand with the bore holes in the stand foot or place it at suitable location.
• Screw the stand to the stand thread on the bottom of the laser.
• Secure the fi xture by tightening the counter nut (knurled head screw) to the tripod.
• Set the incline angle of the stand as desired and tighten the clamping screws on the joints.
