General safety measures and hygiene regulations
Open the filter only for changing the filter elements in accordance with the instructions for
use. Observance of the instructions for use is a prerequisite for proper operation as well as
possible warranty and guarantee claims. Further information on handling water filters can
also be found on our homepage at www.wm-aquatec.de under „General safety regulations for
handling water filters and water systems".
IMPORTANT: Do not operate the filter with water contaminated with pathogenic
chemicals or any other type of waste water!
Installation of the filter (applies only for fixed installation
with optional mounting bracket)
If you wish to install the filter in an existing pipe system, we recommend that only trained
specialist personnel carry out the installation. Before installation, make sure the system is
depressurized by disconnecting the water supply.
1. Unscrew the locking ring from the housing head using the enclosed filter key.
2. Tighten the mounting bracket included in the scope of delivery to the housing head.
IMPORTANT: Use only the enclosed screws. Other screws could damage the housing head!
Note the direction of flow:: IN ➟ water inlet | OUT ➟ water outlet
3. Attach the supplied fittings (connections) included in the scope of delivery to the filter
head or use compatible connections for connection to your water system.
4. Fasten the mounting bracket with the housing head to the wall to be installed with
suitable mounting material.
NOTE: The use of a pressure gauge in front of the filter may be a good idea, depending on
the pressure resistance of the filter element used. We also recommend the installation of
ball valves or shut-off valves on both sides of the filter housing so that they can be used to
shut off the water supply during maintenance work on the filter.
5. Connect your water system to the filter head with suitable fittings (connections), making sure
that the connections are correctly sealed.
The direction of flow of the filter must be observed!
6. Place the filter element inside the housing. We recommend a filter centering ring for cen-
tral placement of the elements (included in the scope of delivery depending on the order number).
7. Screw the housing to the filter head using the locking ring. Tighten the locking ring with
the supplied filter key.
IMPORTANT: Allow the water to drain for a few minutes during initial operation or when
replacing the filter elements and do not use it as drinking water.
NOTE: Inscribe the supplied label with the date of the next filter change (month/year).
Use a water-insoluble pen and place the sticker visibly on the filter housing.
Filter operation
If there is no fixed installation (e.g., for filling the fresh water tank in recreational vehicles), but
prélèvement d'eau potable,
daily use is intended: always allow at least 1-2 litres of water run through the filter before
you use the water. If there has been no use for more than 2 days: A rinse of at least 5 litres is
recommended. The impermeability of the system must be checked regularly during operation.
Maintenance
Clean or disinfect the filter housing at regular intervals, depending on the degree of soiling.
Use only lukewarm water, a soft sponge and pH-neutral, gentle cleaning agents or a suitable
disinfectant. Replacement of the sealing ring is recommended every 3-5 years.
Storage
If there is no fixed installation (e.g., filling of the fresh water tank in recreational vehicles):
Open filter housing, drain water and drain filter element, reinstall and close filter housing.
Changing the filter elements
The replacement interval of the filter elements depends on the type of filter element, but is re-
commended after 6 months according to DIN 1988. They must also be changed when the water
flow rate is greatly reduced or when the capacity limit is reached. The respective data sheet for
the filter elements provides information on this. When changing the filter cartridge, the water
inlet must be closed beforehand, and cleanliness must be observed. New filter elements must
be rinsed before the first drinking water withdrawal. The exact time or number of litres can be
found in the descriptions of the respective filter elements.
