Installation instructions
Piping
• Ensure that all measuring and ancillary instruments can be easily operated and values read off.
• The installation site should be chosen so that an unrestricted straight pipe of min.3 x DN is ensured.
• The pipe diameter should not be reduced directly in front of or behind the meter.
• All regulation of the flow should be done behind the meter.
• When choosing the installation site watch the requirements for fitting position(horizontal/vertical/inclined)!
• The layout of the piping must ensure that all measuring instruments are filled with liquid at all times and that no air bubbles are present.
Dimensioning the measuring instruments and ancillary instruments
Flowmeters must be appropriately dimensioned according to the conditions of the facility. Alter the piping specifications if necessary. All
flowmeters and ancillary instruments are to be dimensioned according to maximum operating conditions. Of special importance are:
• flowrate
• operating pressure
• operating temperature
• ambient temperature
In buildings where minus temperatures may occur meters should be fully drained before the onset of freezing temperatures.
Mounting
• Purge the piping at high pressure before mounting. Use spacers instead of counters for new or updated piping.
• The meter must be installed in the pipe free of stress.
• Flange gaskets must not protrude into the bore of the pipe.
• Ensure that the meter is installed in the pipe with the flow direction indicated on thebody matching the flow direction in the pipe.
• To avoid damage of the O-ring during installation of the measuring insert into thebody it first has to be drawn up to the seat at the
headflange and then mounted intothe body.
Commissioning
• When commissioning and after every emptying procedure, open the valve slowly in order to prevent water hammer. Continuous
overload will lead to damage of the unit.
• The manufacturer's value for Q
• The maximum temperature of the medium should not be exceeded.
RUBIN
/ Q
should not be exceeded for extended periods.
