NOTE
Project planning may only be carried out by Dialock specialists.
Only locks and door handles with appropriate approval must be used for panic
exit devices for doors on escape routes in accordance with DIN EN 179.
The DT 400 is intended for fitting to wood and wood materials, and also to metal.
Prior to installing a DT 400 on a door check the door to make sure it is mounted
correctly.
We recommend checking if the door design is suitable for use with a DT 400.
Before a DT 400 is installed on a fire protection/smoke control door check the
certification of the fire protection door on which the DT 400 has been tested, to make
sure the DT 400 is suitable for that particular door.
If door seals (e.g. sealing profile, floor seals) are used make sure that these don't
impede the correct function of the DT 400.
The DT 400 must be selected in the appropriate size (backset, forend width) for the
door leaf.
As a panic exit device class 2 (standard projection), the DT 400 must be used in
places where the width of the escape route is limited, or where the doors on which
the DT 400 is to be installed cannot be opened by more than 90°.
If the DT 400 is installed on glazed doors, the glass parts have to be made of safety
glass or laminated glass.
The DT 400 is not suitable for use on double action doors.
During the installation of the DT 400 carefully observe the notes for fixing the
terminal. These instructions and all maintenance instructions must be handed to the
operator by the installer.
Generally, the operating device should be installed at a height between 900 mm and
1100 mm above the surface of the finished floor, with the door closed.
If it is known that the majority of the users of the building are small children, a
reduction of the height of the operating device should be considered.
When installing panic exit devices with lever handle activation (DT 400), in particular
on doors with stepped surfaces, any possible safety risk, e.g. trapping of fingers or
entanglement of clothes, must be avoided as far as possible.
The locking elements and locking counterpieces (striking plates) have to be installed
in such a way to make it safe to reach into the installation. It must be ensured that
the projection of the locking elements in retracted position does not hinder the free
movement of the door.
No other devices except for the DT 400 intended for this purpose may be installed
to hold the closed in the closed position. This does not exclude the installation of
door closers.
