BOTTLE JACKS
ESSENTIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Read the instruction manual carefully and practice with the equipment prior to application.
The bottle jack has been designed to lift vehicles. Other industrial uses are foreseen only when they are not
continuous and the operator takes into consideration the safety measures corresponding to the application.
Use safety gloves and, for industrial applications, safety goggles and boots.
Choose a jack that does not exceed 80% of its nominal capacity both in load and elevation.
Look for stable zones for the load application points and safe areas for the operators. Use chocks if necessary.
Do not work underneath the vehicle. If absolutely necessary, mechanically block using axel stands.
Make use of the whole support surface of the jack both at the head and base.
Do not expose equipment to sources of intense heat (welding).
Carry out maintenance operations when the equipment is load free and in clean well-illuminated places.
The jack handle is used for pumping as well as for opening and closing the release valve. Do not use longer
handles or any other type of tool to operate the jack.
Once the equipment has been used, check that it has not been damaged, clean and protect before storage.
On filling the jack with oil, use LARZEP hydraulic oil or one of similar characteristics. Fill only as far as the level
marked (rubber stopper) and bear in mind that the piston must be set back.
Before carrying out any type of application make sure the jack is well installed, check the safety of the operator
position and make sure it is impossible for any person to gain access to the lifting area.
The jacks have a pressure regulating valve incorporated, calibrated in factory. Do not manipulate this valve.
HOW TO USE
Before using the jack, the internal circuit must be drained. To do so, open the release valve by turning to the left,
a couple of turns and pump the jack several times.
Close the release valve, turning to the right as far as it will go (it is not necessary to tighten with force). The jack is
now ready to be used.
Using the spindle (if available) move the head of the jack closer to the load application point.
Raise the vehicle by pumping. Be aware of safety norms at all times.
To lower the vehicle, turn the discharge valve slowly to the left.
Pick up the jack (spindle and piston), clean and store for future use.
The jack can be used in a horizontal position on other types of applications, only when the injector equipment
(pump) is situated in the lower part.
MAINTENANCE
Periodically grease the pieces that are subject to friction, the injector, the spindle, etc.
Check the oil level and top up if necessary. The level is marked by the spill over of oil from the filling hole (rubber
stopper on the side of the jack), keeping the jack in a vertical position and the piston in. Excess oil may impede
the correct functioning of the jack.
Use oil type HL or HM, ISO grade, with kinematics viscosity of 30 CST at 40 ºC and Engler viscosity of 3 at 50º C.
Under no circumstances should you use brake fluid.
In maintenance operations use original LARZEP parts. The reference for the set of spare parts is created by
putting JR before the jack reference.
All repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Choose a jack that does not exceed 80% of its nominal capacity
both in load and elevation.
