Cleaning the System and Infection Control/Decontamination

WARNING
Before cleaning or disassembling the Softform Active 2 Hybrid Support Surface, check the underside of the mattress folds
for sharp objects such as scissors, needles, etc. These objects should be removed and discarded before proceeding with
further cleaning or disassembly; otherwise injury or damage to the product may occur.
Because of potential risk of infectious exposure, cleaning with the patient on the bed is not recommended.
All equipment should be inspected. Any item that is visibly soiled with the patient's blood or other body fluids should be
properly cleaned or removed.
Laundry workers should treat all soiled bedding as if it were contaminated with pathogenic microorganisms.
ALWAYS use universal precautions, especially where the product is known or suspected to be contaminated. ALWAYS
refer to your infection control manual for advice.
DO NOT use alcohols or phenols.
ALWAYS ensure the main supply has been disconnected.
Avoid getting the power unit wet.
CAUTION
To prevent accidental cover damage, DO NOT place hypodermic needles, venflons, scalpels or other similarly sharp
objects onto the mattress.
DO NOT use phenol's or alcohols.
1. Remove the bedding.
2. Ensure that the power unit is off.
3. Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet.
