PRECAUTIONS
1. Do not boil the probe.
2. Do not drop the thermometer or expose it to heavy shock .
3. Do not bite the probe .
4. Do not store the unit under direct sunlight, at a high temperature, or in high humidity or dust. Performance may be degraded.
5. Keep out of the reach of unsupervised children.
6. Clean the thermometer probe before storing.
7. If the thermometer has been stored at below-freezing temperatures, allow it to warm naturally to room temperature before using.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
1. When the symbol appears, the battery needs to be replaced .
2. Remove the battery cover from the thermometer.
3. Use a toothpick or the like to pry loose the battery cover and the old battery. Avoid using any sharp metal object in this operation.
4. Place a new battery into the battery holder.
5. Replace and fasten the battery cover securely.
Warning: Keep thermometer and battery out of reach of young children.
If the battery is swallowed, contact a hospital immediately to have it removed.
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. It may explode.
HOW TO USE
1. Disinfect the probe with ethyl (rubbing) alcohol before using.
2. Depress the ON/OFF button. The display will read or .

3. Release the ON/OFF button and the display will show L,°C or L,°F with °C or °F flashing.
4. Place the probe in the appropriate position (oral or rectal).
5. Once the degree sign °C (°F) on the display has stopped flashing, the measured temperature is indicated and an alarm will sound.
6. The unit will automatically turn off in 9 minutes (approx.). However, to prolong battery life, it is best to turn off the thermometer once the temperature has been noted.
Special Features:
Normal Temperature Alarm: An alarm will sound when the maximum temperature has registered and is ready to read. The „Normal Temperature" alarm (four quick beeps followed by a pause) will sound repeatedly for approxi-
mately 8 seconds.
Last Memory Recall: When the ON/OFF button is depressed to activate the thermometer, hold down for approximately 5 seconds. The display of 188.8 will change to show the last measured temperature. This reading is dis-
played as long as the button is held down. When the button is released, the thermometer will be in „ready-to-measure" mode and the recalled temperature will be erased.
Fever Alarm: If the temperature registers higher than 37.5 °C (99.5 °F), the fever alarm (a quick beeping sound which occurs continuously for about 10 seconds) will sound when the peak temperature has registered.
Switch between Centigrade and Fahrenheit: The Centigrade or Fahrenheit mode can be switched by pressing the ON/OFF button within the first 4 seconds of turning on the device.
NOTE:
You may put a sanitary plastic probe shield on the sensor tip to help prevent avoidance of virus transmission. Use
of the probe cover may result in a 0.1 °C (0.2 °F ) difference from actual temperature.Dispose of any used probe
shield and store the unit in a safe place.
RELIABLE METHODS TO MEASURE TEMPERATURE
ORAL
Place the probe well under the patient's tongue. Instruct the patient to keep their mouth closed while the thermometer is reading.
A normal temperature by this method is usually considered between 36.0 °C to 37.5 °C (96.8 °F to 98.6 °F).

RECTAL
If rectal temperature is recommended by your doctor, you may use a probe shield. Insert thermometer into the probe shield.
Lubricate the probe cover with a water soluble jelly for easier insertion. Do not use petroleum jelly. Insert tip of probe no more than 1,5 cm (1/2 inch) into rectum. STOP if you meet
any resistance. In general, the rectal temperature is around 0.5 °C to 1.0 °C (1.0 to 2.0 °F) higher than oral temperature.
NOTE: Children should be attended by an adult during the entire temperature recording process. After use, the digital thermometer should be stored in a safe place, out of reach of
young children. If you compare temperatures between two thermometers, it is possible to have two different readings even
if both thermometers are within their accuracy tolerances. Differences in how you take each reading and the thermometer's tolerance range can account for nearly 0.1 °C (0.2 °F) variability.
REMEMBER: Find your normal temperature and watch for changes.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
To clean the thermometer, wash the tip with a solution of mild detergent and cool water. Disinfect the thermometer by wiping the sensor and lower stem
with a cloth dipped in a household anti-septic solution such as rubbing alcohol.
LIMITED WARRANTY
This thermometer is guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase against manufacturer's defect under normal, household use. Following the directions closely will ensure years of dependable operation. If the thermome-
ter does not function properly, first check the battery (see battery replacement instructions). We recommend that the accuracy of the unit be checked every 2 years by an authorised laboratory (in Germany this is compulsory).
Replace it if necessary. Observe the applicable regulations when discarding the device and batteries.

MEDIDAS DE PRECAUSION
GB 1. No meter el sensor en agua hirviendo.
2. No dejar caer el termómetro y evitar que reciba golpes fuertes.
3. No morder el sensor.
4. Guardar el termómetro en un lugar donde no sea expuesto a la radiación solar directa , las altas temperaturas, mucha humedad atmosférica o el polvo para no perjudicar el funcionamiento.
5. Guardar el termómetro fuera del alcance de los niños.
6. Limpiar el sensor del termómetro después de la medición.
7. Antes de usar el termómetro es necesario adaptarlo a la temperatura ambiental siempre que el termómetro haya sido guardado a temperaturas considerablemente más bajas.
CAMBIAR LA PILA
1. Cuando aparece el símbolo es necesario poner una pila nueva.
2. Quitar la tapa de la cámara para la pila.
3. Usar un palillo o cosa parecida para soltar la cubierta de la pila y la pila vieja.
4. Poner una pila nueva en la cámara correspondiente.
5. Volver a poner la tapa y fijarla correctamente.
Atención: Guardar el termómetro y las pilas fuera del alcance de los niños pequeños. En caso de que se haya tragado una pila, contactar sin demora a un hospital.
No tirar la pila al fuego, porque podría explotar.
APLICACION
1. Desinfectar el sensor antes de cada uso , utilizando alcohol etilico (para fines medicinales).
2. Pulsar el botón ON/OFF. En el display aparece
3. Al soltarse el botón ON/OFF el display indica L, °C o L, °F, °C o °F destella.
4. Posicionar el sensor (medición oral o rectal).
5. Cuando el símbolo °C (°F) no destella más en el display, se visualiza la temperatura exacta y suena una señal acústica.
6. El termómetro se desconecta automáticamente después de unos 9 minutos. Para prolongar la durabilidad de la pila, se debería desconectar el termómetro mediante el botón ON/OFF, después de haber anotado la temperatura medida.
Características especiales:
Señal de temperatura normal: Suena una señal en el momento de visualizarse la temperatura máxima. La "señal de temperatura normal" (cuatro sonidos pip cortos, seguidos por una pausa) se repite durante unos 8 segundos.
Visualización del último valor medido: Pulsar el botón ON/OFF para activar el termómetro, y mantenerlo pulsado durante 5 segundos. La indicación de 188.8 cambia para indicar la última temperatura medida. Este valor sigue
siendo indicado, todo el tiempo que el botón quede pulsado. Al soltar el botón, el termómetro se encuentra en el régimen "disponibilidad de medición" y se borra la temperatura anteriormente visualizada.
Alarma de fiebre: Cuando la temperatura supera los 37,5°C (99,5°F), suena el alarma de fiebre (un sonido pip rápido, que se mantiene durante unos 10 segundos).
Cambiar de grados centígrados a grados Fahrenheit: Conectar el termómetro y volver a pulsar el botón ON/OFF dentro de los 4 segundos siguientes
NOTA:
Es posible ponerle al sensor de medición una protección higiénica para evitar la transmisión de virus. Al emplearse tal funda protectora, es posible que la temperatura medida difiera un 0,1°C (0,2°F) de la temperatura real.
Eliminar la funda protectora después de la medición.
METODOS SEGUROS PARA MEDIR LA TEMPERATURA
ORAL
Posicionar el sensor medidor exáctamente debajo de la lengua del paciente. Explícale al paciente que es necesario mantener bien cerrada la boca.
Al aplicar este método, una temperatura entre 36,0°C y 37,5°C (98,8°F und 98,6°F) se considera como normal.
RECTAL
IEs posible que su médico le recomiende la aplicación rectal del termómetro. En este caso se aconseja ponerle al sensor medidor una funda plástica de un solo uso.
Después de meter el termómetro en esta funda protectora se puede aplicar un lubricante para aliviar la inserción (no usar vaselina natural). La punta del termómetro
se inserta en el recto a lo máximo hasta 1,5 cm. La inserción SE INTERRUMPE INMEDIATAMENTE si siente resistencia. La temperatura rectal es unos 0,5°C hasta
1,0°C (1,0 hasta 2,0°F) más alta que la temperatura oral.
NOTA: Se recomienda medirles la temperatura a los niños en presencia de un adulto .El termómetro digital se debe guardar, después del uso, en un lugar seguro y fuera
del alcance de los niños. Cuando se comparan las temperaturas medidas con dos termómetros diferentes pueda ser que los valores medidos no sean idénticos, aúnque ambos instrumentos funcionen dentro de las tolerancias
admisibles. Cada medición puede ser diferente y la tolerancia del termómetro puede causar una diferencia de casi 0,1°C (0,2 °F).
Cuando se comparan las temperaturas medidas con dos termómetros diferentes pueda ser que los valores medidos no sean idénticos, aúnque ambos instrumentos funcionen dentro de las tolerancias admisibles.
Cada medición puede ser diferente y la tolerancia del termómetro puede causar una diferencia de casi 0,1°C (0,2 °F).
INSTRUCCIONES DE LIMPIEZA
Lavar la punta del termómetro con una solución de detergente suave y agua fria. Desinfectar el termómetro, para el efecto limpiar el sensor de medición y la parte inferior del cuerpo del termómetro, usando un trapo mojado
con una solución antiséptica de uso doméstico, p.ej. alcohol medicinal.
GARANTIA LIMITADA
Prestarnos una garantía de dos años a partir de la fecha de compra, siempre que se trate de defectos de fabricación, presuponiendo el uso normal del termómetro. Siempre que se observen estrictamente las presentes instruccio-
nes, el instrumento funcionará perfectamente durante varios años. En caso de que el termómetro no funcione correctamente, controlar primero la pila (ver: Cambio de la pila). Sustituirla en caso necesario. Es recomendable que
cada dos años un laboratorio autorizado controle la precisión de medición del instrumento (en Alemania es obligatorio por ley). Hay que respetar los reglamentos vigentes a la hora de desechar el termómetro o las pilas gastadas.
