7.1

System configuration

The choice of a system configuration should be the result of an electro-acoustic study conducted by an expert (System
Engineer or Audio Consultant). However, this will not be discussed here as sound-design aspects are beyond the scope
of this manual. This study can rely on the simulations modeled in SOUNDVISION Software, yielding electro-acoustic
predictions which take into account the enclosures' manufacturer data and particular situational usage, as well as the
projected environment.
One operation mode (EXTENDED) associated with a set of factory presets will allow building all the common
configurations (C, LR, LCR, distributed...).
The K1-SB enclosure is to be used in conjunction with the K1 enclosure (and eventually the SB28 subwoofer) in the

EXTENDED mode.

7.2 EXTENDED mode
7.2.1

Description

In the EXTENDED mode, the K1 enclosure combines with the L-ACOUSTICS
®
L-ACOUSTICS SB28 high-power subwoofer can also be added to extend the sub-low frequency bandwidth. The
EXTENDED mode comprises 4 preset combinations:
1 - When combining [K1] with [K1SB_X], the K1 is
associated with the K1-SB in a THROW configuration.
The THROW configuration consists in arraying K1-SB
enclosures on top of a K1 line source array (see Figure 5) so as
to enhance the system sub-low throw capability by
increasing the array height.
The K1-SB:K1 recommended ratio is 1:2 and the combined
system low frequency limit is 35 Hz.
