Camshaft Clamping Tools - Mercedes-Benz 1.6/2.0 Petrol Engines
Specifically designed for vehicles fitted with the chain driven 1.6/2.0 direct injection
petrol engines. These engines are found in the late A, B CLA, C and E class vehicles.
Due to the type of construction used on these engines the camshaft needs to be
clamped in place to allow dismantling and assemble of the cylinder head.
• Designed to allow removal and assembly of the camshafts.
• Supplied with small and large diameter clamp pieces to ensure the camshaft is
correctly held in place.
• Supplied with special security bit socket for the camshaft pulleys.

Components A, B & D are used to clamp the camshafts into the cylinder head
prior to removal and fitting of the camshaft holding feet. To allow controlled
disassembly and assemble of the top half of the cylinder head.
Instructions for Use
1. Always refer to manufacturer specific data and instructions.
2. Select appropriate clamping pieces according to the diameter of the camshafts
fitted.
3. Fit selected clamping pieces to the clamping assemblies (A & B).
4. Turn engine to TDC No1 before disassembly of engine.
5. Fit Camshaft clamps as shown in figure 1.
