Ensure that no existing cables or pipes (including water pipes) are damaged when
drilling mounting holes or securing screws.
• Refer to the above figures during installation.
• Always mount the lamp in an upright position. The recommended installation height for the
wall lamp is 2 m.
• Turn the solar module (1) counter-clockwise out of the light body (4) and lift it out. The on/
off switch (3) is located underneath the solar module. After installation, re-attach the solar
module.
• Only for Wall Lamp, Item no. 1645723: Remove the side screws on the wall bracket with
a suitable Phillips screwdriver. Remove the wall bracket from the lamp body and use it as a
template to mark the bore holes. See Fig. B.
• Use a spirit level to mark the bore holes for the wall lamps (Item no. 1645722 / 1645723).
• Use wall plugs and screws suitable for the structure of the wall and floor. To use the provided
wall anchors, use a Ø 5 mm drill (Item no. 1645722 / 1645723) or Ø 7 mm (Item no. 1645724
/ 1645726). Drill the holes in the wall and insert the wall anchors.
• Attach the lamp with the screws in an upright position. Use a suitable Phillips screwdriver to
tighten the screws.
• Only for Wall Lamp, Item no. 1645723: Attach the wall bracket with a suitable Phillips
screwdriver. Place the lamp body over the wall bracket and tighten the side screws in the
wall bracket.
• Set the on/off switch to ON. Place the solar module on the lamp body and turn it clockwise
until it clicks into place. The battery only charges when the on/off switch is set to ON.
• The battery needs to be fully charged prior to first time use. The charging time is approx.
8 hours in direct sunlight.
• At dark and when the PIR sensor (2) detects motion, the light turns on for approx. 25 seconds.
• You can switch off the lamp if you do not want it to turn on at dark. Lift the solar module out
of the holder and set the on/off switch to OFF. Note that the battery only charges when the
on/off switch is set to ON.
Function of the motion detector
The integrated PIR sensor (2) reacts to changes in temperature within the detection zone. For
example, this would happen when a person or animal whose temperature is different from the
ambient temperature enters the detection zone.
• In order to ensure optimal detection, the product should be placed so that the object to be
detected moves through the detection zone from left to right or vice versa, not towards to the
motion sensor. Bear this in mind when mounting the product.
• The range for detecting a change in temperature depends on numerous factors. Height,
ambient temperature, object size, distance, direction of movement, movement speed and the
temperature difference between the object and the surrounding area.
Due to the operating principle applied, it is not possible to detect temperature
changes through glass. Do not install the product behind a glass pane.
Important notes
• The power of the solar panel varies according to the time of year and depends on the duration
and strength of the sunlight. Long periods without sufficient solar radiation (especially in
winter) can lower the charge state of the battery, thus not allowing long lit periods. The
rechargeable battery stores less energy during the day than it consumes at night. Thus, the
lighting duration is inevitably reduced. This may damage the battery as a result of it becoming
completely discharged.
• Keep the product clean. Dust and dirt reduce the efficiency of the solar module, resulting in
a lower charging current.
• Cold temperatures have a negative impact on the battery life (the light stays on for a shorter
period at night). To prolong the lifespan of the product, store it in a dry, warm room during the
winter (or when you are not going to use it for an extended period). To do this, remove the
battery from the product. You can charge the battery with a battery charger before inserting
it into the product.
Removing/changing the battery
Change the battery as soon as the light ON time is significantly reduced, even
though the battery has sufficiently charged during the day.
Ensure that no liquids get inside the product when changing the rechargeable
battery.
• Refer to the following figures when changing the battery.
• Remove the solar module and set the on/off switch to OFF.
• Loosen the screws from the solar module cover with a suitable Phillips screwdriver.
• Note that there are cables connected to the cover. Remove the cover carefully and place it in
the immediate vicinity without tugging on the cables.
• Remove the rechargeable battery and replace it with an identical battery (see technical data).
Pay attention to correct polarity (+/-).
• Replace the cover carefully and tighten the screws.
Never use a disposable non-rechargeable battery.
• Set the on/off switch to ON.
• Place the solar module on the lamp body and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.

Care and cleaning

• Do not use abrasive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may
damage the casing or stop the product from functioning properly.
• Do not point water jets (e.g. from a high-pressure cleaner) at the light, since this could
damage the gaskets.
• Allow the product to cool down sufficiently before cleaning.
• Use a clean, soft and dry cloth to clean the product. To remove stubborn dirt, moisten the
cloth slightly with lukewarm water.
• Do not press too hard on the product as this can lead to scratch marks.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste. Always dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory
regulations.
Remove the rechargeable battery and dispose of it separately from the product.
b) Batteries
You are required by law to return all used batteries (Battery Directive). Batteries
must not be placed in household waste.
Batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with this symbol to indicate
that disposal in household waste is forbidden. The abbreviations for heavy metals
in batteries are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (indicated on the battery,
e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or battery retailers.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to protection of the environment.
