TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The chimney stoves of La NORDICA are suitable to heat living spaces for some periods. As fuel, wood logs are used. The appliance
works as an intermittent operating appliance.
The stove is made of sheets of metal in galvanized steel, enamelled cast iron and, depending on the model, thermo radiant ceramics
or soapstones.
The hearth is internally sheathed with single sheets in cast iron and inside it there is a turning and extractable grate; the back side
is extractable. Thanks to some calibrated holes made over that side, the supply of pre-heated air inside hearth is guaranteed and
having, in this way, a post-combustion which increases the yield and reduces gas output. Inside it there is a turning and extractable
grate in cast iron.
The hearth is equipped with a panoramic door with ceramic glass (resistant up to 700 °C). This allows a wonderful view on the burning
flames. Furthermore, it is thus avoided the output of sparks and smoke.
Below the hearth door will be found an extractable ash-drawer with a closing door

The heating of the environment is made by:
• Convection: (70%) the air passage through the double mantel of the stove releases heat into the environment;
• Irradiation (30%): through the panoramic glass and the external hot surfaces of the stove, the heat is radiated into the
environment. ( See chapter CALCULATION OF THE THERMAL POWER).
The stove is equipped with controls of primary and secondary air by which it is adjusted the combustion air.
1A - PRIMARY air register
With the register below on the left of the door of the hearth it is adjusted the passage of air through the drawer of ash and the
grate in the fuel direction. The primary air is necessary for the combustion process. The ash drawer must be regularly emptied,
so that the ash does not obstruct the primary air entry for the combustion. Through the primary air the fire is also kept alive.
During wood combustion, the register of primary air must be opened only for a while, because otherwise the wood burns fast
and the stove may overheat. The register is open when the lever is completely pulled out. The register is closed when the lever
is introduced (see chapter NORMAL OPERATION).
2A - SECONDARY air register
Over the hearth door there is the secondary air register. Also this control must be opened (then moved to the right), especially
for wood combustion, so that unburnt carbon does not undergo a post-combustion (see chapter NORMAL OPERATION).
The adjustment of the registers necessary to reach the rated calorific yield is the following one:

Requisitos fundamentales para un correcto funcionamiento del aparato:
• la sección interna tiene que ser, preferiblemente, circular;
• tiene que estar térmicamente aislada y ser impermeable, tiene que estar construida con materiales idóneos para la
resistencia al calor, a los productos de la combustión y a eventuales condensaciones;
• no tiene que presentar estrangulamientos y tener una marcha vertical con desviaciones no superiores a los 45°;
• si ya se la ha utilizado, hay que limpiarla;
• respetar los datos técnicos del manual de instrucciones;
En el caso que las chimeneas tuvieren la sección cuadrada o rectangular, las aristas internas tienen que ser redondeadas con radio
no inferior de 20 mm. Para la sección rectangular, la relación máxima entre los lados tiene que ser ≤ 1,5.
