a) Safety instructions
These operating instructions for breather caps of the SFV series are intended
for design engineers of plants and machinery, as well as for assembly and
repair staff.
WARNING:
Disregarding the safety instructions may cause death or severe injuries.
CAUTION:
Disregarding the safety instructions may cause material damage or injuries.
b) Intended use, range of application
SFV breather caps series are designed for installation in industrial mechanical
containers destined for areas with danger of explosion, in which the internal
pressure of the tank must not exceed a certain value.
WARNING:
it must be ensured that the intended use concerning the area of application
(temperature, fluid, ATEX category, temperature class) is observed.
CAUTION:
breather cap or the sealing.
c) 94/9/EC Directive compliance
The breather caps of the SFV series comply with Health and Safety
Requirements intended in 94/9/EC European Directive for equipments in
Group II, category 2GD (see Declaration of Conformity in these instructions).
d) Identification
ATEX identification is marked on the upper surface of the cap.

e) Definition for identification according to ATEX product Directive 94/9/EC
Ex: identification for explosion protection pursuant to directive 94/9/EC
II: equipment group II (places liable to be endangered by explosive
atmospheres).
2: identification of the area
G: potentially explosive atmospheres through gases, vapors or mist
D: potentially explosive atmospheres through dust/air mixtures
IIB: materials group
T6: temperature class
Ambient and/or fluid temperature: -30 ÷ +85 °C
f) Description of the product
SFV caps are supplied in the sizes
30-3/8, 30-1/2 and 40-3/4.
SFV caps are made with the
following materials:
- Cover, threaded connector and

g) Maximum working pressure
The maximum working pressure is independent of temperature; once opened,
the cap allows to return to the set pressure, and when this value is reached,
it closes.
h) Assembly and operation
1. Carry out visual inspection for damage.
2. Take care that the contact surface of the seal is level and produced
thoroughly, and right-handed.
i) Assembly/Disassembly
Take care not to damage the thread during disassembly.
j) Maintenance
The breather caps of the SFV series are maintenance-free. Carry out
periodical inspections for integrity and tightening.
In case of leakage replace the cap.
k) Waste disposal
The breather caps of the SFV series comply with European Directives ROHS,
WEEE and ELV.
l) Warranty and liability
The legal warranty and liability provisions apply.
