1. Introduction
Read through this user manual completely and carefully. The user manual
is an integral part of the product and contains important information
about operation and handling. Always observe all the safety instructions.

2. Proper use

The Electronic Watchdog EW 01 consists of main unit EW 01A, remote
control EW 01R and mains adapter Type GPE125-120050-2.
The primary use of the unit is the simulation of a guard dog in order to
deter a ppotential break-in to property.
The unit is placed inside the property, next to the location to be monitored
(eg. front door, patio door) and it can be armed by pressing a button on
the unit or on the remote control. The sensor in the unit can detect
movement on the outside of the wall (eg. somebody approaches the front
door) which triggers the simulation of a barking sound. Alternatively a
chime or a siren sound can be generated. The siren sound can also be
manually triggered by pressing the panic button on the remote control.
The unit can be expanded with optional accessories. Up to 6 wireless
detectors (reed contacts to monitor doors or windows, or PIR-detectors to
monitor movement in rooms) can be enrolled into the unit. A second
remote control can also be added.
The unit is powered through the 12 V DC mains adapter which is
connected to 230 VAC, 50 Hz. To maintain operation in case of mains
power failure 8 AA size batteries (not supplied) can be installed. The
remote control is powered by a 3V CR2032 size button cell.
The electric watchdog is intended for indoor use within private
households.
Any other use or change of the appliance is improper use. No liability
shall be assumed for consequential damage as well as damage which is
caused by improper use or incorrect operation.
