Defrosting the freezer
A thin coating of frost will slowly form on the inside walls of the freezer. This layer should be removed.
Never use a sharp object as it could damage the appliance.
For hygiene and food conservation reasons, we recommend defrosting the freezer at least once a
year by proceeding as follows:
• Pull out the mains plug from the mains socket.
• Remove any food from the compartment and place it in a special container to ensure that there
is no break in the cold chain (e.g. in an ice box or insulated bag, etc.).
• Remove the bottom drawer (marked A in the drawing below) from the freezer.
• Then take out the plastic piece (marked B in the drawing below) located on the back wall of the
freezer. Place it in the groove at the front of the unit.
• Leave the freezer door open and place a basin under the appliance to recover the water from
defrosting. You can also speed up this process by placing a bowl of hot water inside the
compartment.
• Once defrosting is complete, dry the inside properly and put everything back in place.
• Plug the power cord back in to return the appliance to service.
• Wait until the freezer has reached the recommended temperature before putting the food back
in it.
