08. Brake

Your balance bike Solo/Terra is equipped with a rear disc brake. Included in the packaging you will find
a couple of spare brake pads.
WARNING! Before using the toy, explain to the children how the brake works, teaching them that the
stronger they pull the brake lever, the harder the bike will stop. Teach the kids how to brake smoothly,
thus learning how to stop himself safely. Teach the kids that hard braking can lead to a loss of conrol
of the bike and to falls.
WARNING! Due to their motive abilities children starting to learn to ride the balance bike at the age
of approx. 2.5 years are not able to stop such a vehicle by themselves with the handbrake. There is a
risk that supervising persons may be persuaded in believing in a „non-existing safety" and therefore
do not pay enough attention to the learner, because the bike is fitted with a brake (see warning notes).
All children should be supervised when riding the balance bike, even if they are able to effectively use
the brake.
WARNING! The replacement of the brake pads must be carried out by a professional bycicle mechaninc.
A non conforming replacement can lead to malfunctions of the brake and create dangerous situations.
WARNING! Brake pads are small parts that can be swallowed. Keep them away from the reach of
children.

09. Cleaning and maintenance

•
Keeping your balance bike clean is a good habit that also helps to protect it against corrosion.
•
Only use non aggressive and if possible environmental friendly cleansers. Stroke the wooden
parts using a damp cloth and no cleanser, in order to preserve the protective layer of the frame.
•
Damaged parts may endanger the user and shorten the life span of the product. Please check all
parts regularly, in short intervals according to use, for possible damages and loose connections
(screws, plug-in connections).
•
Damaged or worn parts must be replaced straight away and the vehicle must be withdrawn from
use until repaired. If required please only use original MAAMUU spare parts. (See Annex C).
•
Improper repairs and structural alterations (disassembly of original parts, fitting of not permitted
parts, etc.) may cause danger for the user or affect the life span of the product.
•
Avoid keeping the balance bike in a wet environment for a long period.

10. Packaging and disposal

•
Keep the original packaging for future transportations or for stocking the balance bike.
•
MAAMUU products are recyclable. At the end of its useful life please dispose of this article
correctly and safely (local refuse sites).

11. Warranty

Warranty according to european laws applies to this bike. Damage or loss as a result of misuse,
abuse, insufficient maintenance or wear and tear are not covered by our legal liability.
