TROUBLESHOOTING
Before asking for repairs, conduct your own inspection first. If you find a problem that is not explained in the manual,
do not attempt to disassemble the machine. Instead, ask Makita Authorized Service Centers, always using Makita
replacement parts for repairs.
Symptom
Not working.
The appliance turns off with beep sound
soon after turning on the appliance.
The appliance turns off with the power
switch blinking in orange soon after turning
on the appliance.
Though the boiling operation has not
finished, the appliance turns off with a few
seconds of beep sound just like when the
boiling is finished.
The power switch does not stop blinking
in red.
(And the power switch turn off about 10
minutes after.)
Boiled water spills out.
Smells of the boiled water.
Drops of the water on the power supply
stand.
Boiled water leaks when the kettle is tilted.

NOTE: Some items in the list may be included in the
tool package as standard accessories. They may
differ from country to country.
Probable cause
Battery cartridges are installed improperly.
The battery cartridges are exhausted.
The temperature sensor detects high
temperature because the power switch has
been pressed right after boiling.
The terminal of the temperature sensor
is dirty.
The power supply stand is tilted or placed
on unstable surface.
The terminal of the temperature sensor
is dirty.
The kettle is not sitting on the power supply
stand properly because dust or similar is
caught between the kettle and the power
supply stand.
Power supply connector on the kettle and/
or the power supply stand is dirty.
Water is filled exceeding the maximum
line.
Anything other than water is filled in the
kettle.
Chlorine in tap water may smell.
Smell of resin just after unpacking will fade away in time.
Dew condensation may occur on the appliance because of the vapor of the boiled water.
There's opening on the spout. Even if the open-lid button is in locked position, the water
leaks out when the kettle is tilted.

Remedy
Install the battery cartridges as described
in this manual.
Charge the battery cartridges.
Leave the appliance off for few minutes to
cool the appliance.
Wipe off the dirt on the temperature sensor
using dry cloth.
Put the appliance on the stable, level and
flat surface.
Wipe off the dirt on the temperature sensor
using dry cloth.
Remove any dust on the bottom of the
kettle or on the power supply stand.
Remove the battery and wipe off the dirt
on the power supply connector using dry
cloth.
Reduce water below the maximum line.
Do not boil anything other than water.
