2.3. PERSONAL SAFETY

a)
Do not use the device when tired, ill or under the
influence of alcohol, narcotics or medication which
can significantly impair the ability to operate the
device.
b)
The device may be used by children over 8 years of
age and persons with limited mental, sensory and
mental functions or lacking adequate experience
and/or knowledge, provided that they are supervised
by a person responsible for their safety or have
received instructions from that person on how to
operate the device safely and they understand the
risks involved.
c)
To prevent the device from accidentally switching on,
make sure the switch is on the OFF position before
connecting to a power source.
d)
Do not overestimate your abilities. When using the
device, keep your balance and remain stable at all
times. This will ensure better control over the device
in unexpected situations.
e)
The device is not a toy. Children must be supervised
to ensure that they do not play with the device.
2.4. SAFE DEVICE USE
a)
Do not overload the device. Use the appropriate
tools for the given task. A correctly-selected device
will perform the task for which it was designed better
and in a safer manner.
b)
Do not use the device if the ON/OFF switch does not
function properly (does not switch the device on and
off). Devices which cannot be switched on and off
using the ON/OFF switch are hazardous, should not
be operated and must be repaired.
c)
Disconnect the device from the power supply
before commencement of adjustment, cleaning and
maintenance. Such a preventive measure reduces
the risk of accidental activation.
d)
Keep the device in perfect technical condition.
e)
Device repair or maintenance should be carried out
by qualified persons, only using original spare parts.
This will ensure safe use.
f)
To ensure the operational integrity of the device, do
not remove factory-fitted guards and do not loosen
any screws.
g)
Do not leave this appliance unattended while it is in
use.
h)
Clean the device regularly to prevent stubborn grime
from accumulating.
i)
Do not cover the air intake and outlet.
j)
The device is not a toy. Cleaning and maintenance
may not be carried out by children without
supervision by an adult person.
k)
It is forbidden to interfere with the structure of
the device in order to change its parameters or
construction.
l)
Before and after use, always empty the tank and
clean the vacuum cleaner to avoid accumulation of
substances which may cause a fire inside the device.
m)
During use, check the hoses and the device for
overheating. If you notice signs of overheating, turn
the device off and let it cool down.
n)
The device is used to remove cold ash. Cold ash is
free heat and it does not emit heat. Always verify that
the ash is not hot using, for example, a metal poker.

Do not use the device with no filter installed.
p)
Only fireproof filters should be used in the device.
ATTENTION! Despite the safe design of the device
and its protective features, and despite the use of
additional elements protecting the operator, there is
still a slight risk of accident or injury when using the
device. Stay alert and use common sense when using
the device.
3. USE GUIDELINES
The device is designed to vacuum ash and similar substances
whose temperature does not exceeds 40°C, from fireplaces,
ashtrays, coal or wood fired stoves, or barbecue grills.
Do not use the device to vacuum:
soot,
flammable and corrosive substances,
dust hazardous to health (L, M, H class dust),
hot, glowing or burning substances,
substances whose temperature exceeds 40°C,
liquids.
The user is liable for any damage resulting from
unintended use of the device.

3.2. PREPARING FOR USE

Keep the device away from hot surfaces. Always use the
device on an even, stable, fireproof and dry surfaces. Make
sure that the device power supply matches its nameplate
specifications!
Castor assembly (ASHCLEAN 20SW and ASHCLEAN 20BW
models)
In order to fix the castors to the vacuum cleaner, turn it
upside down, and place element A on the edge of the
housing. Insert the castor pin in the opening in element A.

3.3. DEVICE USE

Use
1.
Unclip the clamps and open the cover to check
that the filter is underneath and that it is free from
contamination.
2.
Replace the cover and secure it with clamps.
3.
Insert the flexible hose into the inlet or outlet,
depending on whether you want to use suction or
blow function.
4.
Insert the metal pipe onto the end of the flexible
hose.

5.
Connect the vacuum cleaner to the power source
and turn it on switching the On/Off button to the "I"
position.
6.
After use, switch the On/Off button to "0" and
disconnect the device from the power source.
Cleaning the filter
1.
Turn the device off and disconnect it from the power
source.
2.
Unclip the clamps and remove the device cover.
3.
Remove the filter and cover as shown in the figure
below.
4.
Clean the HEPA filter from the outside with a brush,
and with water from the inside (it is recommended to
use a shower head) as shown in the figures below.
PLEASE NOTE! Do not use water to clean the filter
from the outside.
5.
Install the filter in the same way as you disassembled it.

3.4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

a)
Unplug the mains plug and allow the device to cool
completely before each cleaning, adjustment or
replacement of accessories, or if the device is not
being used.
b)
Use only non-corrosive cleaners to clean the surface.
c)
After cleaning the device, all parts should be dried
completely before using it again.
d)
Store the unit in a dry, cool place, free from moisture
and direct exposure to sunlight.
e)
Do not spray the device with a water jet or submerge
it in water.
f)
Do not allow water to get inside the device through
vents in the housing of the device.
g)
Clean the vents with a brush and compressed air.
h)
The device must be regularly inspected to check its
technical efficiency and spot any damage.
i)
Empty and clean the tank before and after each use.
j)
Regularly check the condition of the filter.
