STEERING CABLE
1. Check:
Jet thrust nozzle clearance a, b

Difference → Adjust.
Checking steps:
Set the control grip in the neutral posi-

tion.
Turn the handlebar lock to lock.
G
Measure the clearances a and b.
G
If a and b clearances are not even,
G
adjust the cable joint.
2. Adjust:
Steering cable joint (handle end)

Adjustment steps:
G
Set the control grip in the neutral posi-
tion.
Loosen the locknut 1.
G
Disconnect the cable joint 2 from the
G
ball joint 3.
Turn the cable joint 2 in or out for
G
adjusting clearances a and b.
Turn in
Turn out
WARNING
The cable joint must be screwed in more
than 8 mm (0.31 in).
G
Connect the cable joint and tighten the
locknut.
Locknut:
6 N • m (0.6 kgf • m, 4.3 ft • lb)

Clearance a is increased.
Clearance b is increased.
