The level regulators must also be periodically inspected to eliminate any
caking due to greasy substances or filaments which may impede normal
operations.

Check and maintenance

Warning
- The checks and the handling of the
explosion-proof products must be carried out
according to criteria's of the EN standard
60079-17.
- The substitution of joints and parts of the
entries of cable must be carried out with
components identical to those provided by the
manufacturer to guarantee the maintenance of
protection.
- Surfaces of the joints with test of explosion
(for example: joint bodies/cap, bodies/carcass)
should not be worked; not introduce trimmings
not provided by the manufacturer. Such
surfaces must be maintained clean.
Repairs of the explosion-proof equipment must be carried out according
to criteria's specified by standard EN 60079-19.

Danger

Inspections

Periodical checks and preventive maintenance ensure safer operation for
a longer period of time.
The mixer must be inspected at least once a year and, in case of
operations under particularly stressful conditions, the inspections must be
more frequent. On these occasions remember to check the oil.
The electric mixer is delivered together with permanently lubricated
bearings and is ready to be installed. The bearings need to be checked
periodically.
Under normal working conditions the mixer should be overhauled by a
qualified mechanic every three years. Please contact the manufacturer for
operation in particularly harsh conditions.
All disassembling and repair operations of the explosion-proof
products must be carried out by a personnel specialized in authorized
workshop.

Oil change

The oil chamber is filled at the factory.
If there are traces of water or light emulsion the oil has to be changed.
The mixer must be extracted from the sump. The oil plug is on the side of
the oil chamber; we suggest performing this operation at a shop.
Danger
- WARNING! If there is infiltration through
the seal the oil chamber may be under pressure.
To avoid sprays wrap a rag around the oil tank
screw when you loosen it.
- Remove the oil chamber cap and let the oil
flow out completely, then fill with the
specified quantity of lubricant (see mixer data
at the end of this manual), use only paraffinic
white mineral oils with flash point higher than
185°C.
- If you notice that the oil is emulsified or that
there are evident signs of water, check the
lower mechanical seal; replace it if necessary
or contact an authorized dealer.
- Waste oil collection and disposal shall be in
accordance with the applicable local laws.

Cleaning

Do not send the product to the manufacturer if it has been
contaminated by any nuclear radiation. Inform manufacturer so that
accurate actions can take place.
Danger
Make sure that the product and its components
have been thoroughly cleaned, before send the
product to the manufacturer.
For clean propeller from filamentous materials, it can be sufficient to start
the mixer for a few seconds, with opposite direction of rotation.
If the electric mixer is used occasionally, we recommend to clean it after
each usage by mixing clean water in order to avoid deposits and scales.

After cleaning, the sump should be flushed with clean water. A few start
and stop cycles, with the selector switch in automatic position, are
recommended.
