Zu Beginn der 1960er Jahre entwickelte die Maschi-
nenfabrik Kaluga in Russland als stärkere Ausfüh-
rung und Weiterentwicklung zur gleichzeitig ausge-
lieferten Rangierlokomotive TGK die zweiachsigen
Diesellokomotiven TGK2 mit hydraulischer Kraftüber-
tragung. Die robusten und bis zu maximal 60 km/h
schnellen Maschinen waren und sind für den Einsatz
auf Gleisen von Industrieunternehmen und als Ran-
gierlokomotive auf Eisenbahnstationen bestimmt.
Die Rangier- und Industrielokomotive wurde in ver-
schiedenen Serien und Ausführungen zwischen 1960
und 2008 in einer Anzahl von über 9.000 Exemplaren
hergestellt und neben der Inlandsvariante TGK2-M
auch als Variante TGK2-E für den Export produziert.
Hiervon wurden 184 Lokomotiven in die ehemalige
DDR an Industriebetriebe und weitere Fahrzeuge
in die Tschechoslowakei sowie nach Polen geliefert.
Heute sind noch eine ganze Reihe der Lokomotiven
im gesamten Gebiet der ehemaligen UdSSR und teil-
weise auch noch in Deutschland bei Werkbahnen
im Einsatz. Mehrere Fahrzeuge sind in Deutschland
museal erhalten.

The prototype:
At the beginning of the 1960s, the Kaluga machine
factory in Russia developed the TGK2 double-axle
diesel locomotive. The loco had a powerful hydraulic
transmission and the TGK2 were designed for swit-
ching operations. The locos have a maximum speed
of 60 km/h and were intended for use on tracks of
industrial companies and for switching locomotives
at railway stations.
This industrial locomotive was manufactured in vari-
ous versions between 1960 and 2008, with over 9,000
specimens produced. In addition to the domestic
variant TGK2-M, a TGK2-E variant was also produced
for export. Of these, 184 locomotives were delivered
to the former GDR ,to industrial plants, and even
more to Czechoslovakia and Poland.
Today a wide range of locomotives are still in use in
the area spanning the former USSR all the way to
Germany for industrial railways. Several vehicles are
preserved in German museums.
