Operation
Before the first Use
Dispose of any packaging material not required or keep it in a place not accessible
to children. Risk of suffocation!
The tool presetter is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children.
Please note that the tool presetter is a sensitive precision device that needs to be
handled with due care. Do not expose it to sudden shocks or strong mechanical
influences and do not let it fall.
The device is protected against dust and water jets (IP65), but cooling and drilling
emulsion should still be promptly removed and the device should be kept clean and
dry.
Switching the device on and off and zeroing
You can switch the tool presetter on either by pressing the ON/OFF/ZERO button
(3) or by moving the top contact surface (1).
To set the zero point to a device height of precisely 50 mm, simply place the
switched on device upside down on a smooth surface, then press it together
completely and press and hold the ON/OFF/ZERO button (3) until the display
switches to zero. To set the zero point to another height, place the device on the
reference surface, move a tool or tool simulator against the contact surface and set
the zero point as desired by pressing and holding the button (3).
To switch off, press and hold the button (3). The device switches off automatically
after 5 minutes without use.
The device is fitted with a magnetic base (7) to attach it to vertical reference
surfaces.
Switching between metric and imperial measuring system
Press button (4) to switch between the metric and imperial system.
Changing the battery
Pull the battery compartment (5) out of the side of the device and replace the
battery with a new 3 V battery CR2032. Please ensure correct polarity, the
battery's positive terminal must point forwards (towards the display). The battery
compartment is equipped with a slot for a suitable slot-head screwdriver. If
necessary, use a small amount of suitable silicone lubricant to make it easier to
slide the seal on the battery compartment. After replacing the batteries, the device
must be re-zeroed.
