5. Working principle

The principle behind ultrasonic cleaning is cavitation.
When the ultrasonic cleaner is switched on, 3-dimensional sound waves of alternating positive and
negative pressure are generated and transmitted into the water in the tank. These sound waves
created micron-sized bubbles that grow and build up energy during negative pressure and implode at
a very high speed during positive pressure (43,000 times per second). These implosions of high
energy bubbles create cavities that literally pull contaminants of the surface (at speeds up to
400km/h). Due to the size of the bubbles, they are effective in removing contaminants from the
smallest of crevices but harmless to the substrate itself.
Usually water is used as cleaning agent as it is inexpensive and environmentally safe.
6. Operation
Open the lid [3] and place the objects inside the basket [7]. To clean CDs, use the included CD-
holder [9]. Place max. 2 CDs on the holder separated from each other by the ring.
Do not place objects straight into the steel tank [2]. Due to the cleaning process the objects will
start moving around which may result in damage to the tank or the object.
Place the basket or CD holder into the tank [2]. Make sure to fold the watch holder [8] down.
Fill the tank with tepid water up to the MAX- marking (see inside of tank [2]). Add some mild
detergent when desired.
Note: using the device without water in the tank will surely lead to damage!
Close the lid [3].
Make sure your hands are dry and plug the power cord [5] into a suitable mains outlet.
Press the power button [4]. The power LED [6] lights up and the device produces a buzzing sound.
After 3 minutes the power switches off automatically and the cleaning process is finished. To stop the
cleaning process at any time, press the power button [4] again.
When desired, a new cleaning cycle can be started. Wait about 3 minutes and press the power button
[4] again. Do not repeat the cleaning process more than 10 times in a row. Wait for at least 1 hour
th
after the 10
cycle.
Note: cleaning CDs too often may damage them
When the cleaning process is finished, unplug the power cord from the mains.
Open the lid and remove the objects.
Remove the water from the tank and clean the device.
7. Maintenance
Remove the water from the tank after each use to prevent the tank from corroding.
Clean the device and the tank with a moist cloth and some detergent. Never use abrasive solutions or
solvents.
Remove all detergent and dry off.
Store in a cool and dry place.
