Configuration / Commissioning
a) New equipment is delivered in «ConF» or «Strt» mode. Equipment in «ConF» mode needs to be
configured before its first use. Equipment in «Strt» mode can be used immediately by pressing the
«START/Transit» button.

If a start delay is configured, the display changes to:
b) The liberoCONFIG software and user manual are downloadable free of charge from
www.elpro.com/downloads.
c) The liberoCONFIG software allows the configuration of additional information, record mode,
measuring interval, alarm ranges, etc. The configured settings can be saved as configuration profile
in order to apply them onto other data loggers in one step.
d) In order to bring an already running LIBERO into configuration mode, simultaneously press the
«START/Transit» and «STOP/Arrived» buttons for three (3) seconds. Put LIBERO within 10 seconds
into the USB port of your PC and start the liberoCONFIG software.
Application
1. Press the «START/Transit» button for two (2) seconds to mark the start of the measuring
period; recording mode blinks «Logging» and the transport status switches to «Transit».
OK = The alarm criteria have not been exceeded during
the measuring period
2. Pack LIBERO together with the goods.
3. At destination unpack LIBERO.
4. Press the «STOP/Arrived» button for two (2) seconds in order to mark the end of the
measurement period, status switches to «Arrived».
ALARM = during transport, the set threshold values have been
violated

5. Generate evaluation report (PDF):
Put LIBERO into the USB port of any PC. The display shows «PdF». Within 15 seconds, the
evaluation report will automatically be generated and presented in the Explorer. In case the
«auto start» functionality is not activated on your PC, access the PDF file by going to «desktop»
and opening the respective «LIBERO drive» by double-click.
6. View evaluation report with a PDF reader, print, archive or send it by e-mail. Never use a PDF
creator or editor program to save the PDF file, otherwise the hidden raw data will be
destroyed!
7. Depending on the chosen configuration settings, LIBERO can start an additional measuring
period by pressing the «START/Transit» button.
Important notes
Battery
LIBERO works with lithium metal batteries. Please note:
a) Disposal in accordance with WEEE guidelines (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment,
2002/96/EC)
b) Temperatures above 100°C can destroy the battery. Do not throw devices with batteries in the fire:
Explosion risk!
c) Do not short-circuit or reload batteries: Explosion risk!
d) Do not mechanically load batteries or take them apart.
e) Batteries are to be kept away from children.
f) Battery life is terminated as soon as the display flashes «Bat.End». The device still keeps running,
however, it must be replaced within 30 days. The evaluation report can never-theless be produced
by means of the Configuration Utility at any time, even if the display shows «EoL» (End of Life) or
has switched off completely.
Security Note
LIBERO measures ambient temperature and not the quality of the supervised goods. Its pur-pose is to
display whether an inspection of the product quality is required. When using under special ambient
conditions, the following has to be considered:
a) IR radiation (warmth) and superheated steam can damage the coating of the housing.
b) If it is used under microwaves, there is an explosion risk.
c) X-ray can damage the Data Logger.
Liability
The manufacturer shall not be held liable:
a) In case the device has been used outside the specified temperature range.
b) Any claims due to improper storage and use of the device.
c) Any problems in connection with the temperature controlling system.
d) The quality of the supervised products
e) Incorrectly measured values, if the equipment is operated with depleted batteries, i.e. if the display
shows «Bat.End».

Konfiguration / Inbetriebnahme
a) Neugeräte werden im «ConF» oder «Strt» Modus geliefert. Geräte im «ConF» Modus müssen
vor dem ersten Einsatz konfiguriert werden. Geräte im «Strt» Modus können sofort durch
Drücken der «START/Transit»-Taste gestartet werden.
Falls eine Startverzögerung konfiguriert wurde, wechselt die Anzeige zu:
b) Die liberoCONFIG Software sowie deren Bedienungsanweisung können kostenlos von
www.elpro.com/downloads
c) Die liberoCONFIG Software ermöglicht es, Zusatzinformationen, Speichermodus, Messinter-
vall, Alarmbereiche, etc. zu konfigurieren. Die eingegebenen Einstellungen können als Profil
gespeichert und dann in einem Schritt auf weitere Datenlogger übertragen werden.
d) Um einen bereits aktivierten LIBERO in den Konfigurationsmodus zu bringen, müssen die
Tasten «START/Transit» und «STOP/Arrived» gleichzeitig drei (3) Sekunden lang gedrückt wer-
den. LIBERO innerhalb von 10 Sekunden in die USB-Schnittstelle des PCs stecken und die
liberoCONFIG Software starten.
Anwendung
1. «START/Transit»-Taste zwei (2) Sekunden lang drücken, um den Start des Messzyklus' zu
markieren, der Aufzeichnungszustand «Logging» blinkt und der Transportstatus wechselt nach
«Transit».
2. LIBERO der Sendung beipacken.
3. Am Empfängerort: LIBERO der Sendung entnehmen.
4. «STOP/Arrived»-Taste zwei (2) Sekunden lang drücken, um das Ende des Messzyklus' zu
markieren, Status wechselt nach «Arrived».
5. Auswertebericht erstellen (PDF):
LIBERO in die USB-Schnittstelle des PCs stecken. Das Display zeigt «PdF». Der Auswertebericht
wird automatisch innerhalb von ca. 15 Sekunden generiert und direkt im Explorer angezeigt.
Falls kein «Autostart» erfolgt, unter «Arbeitsplatz» «LIBERO Wechseldatenträger» mittels
Doppelklick öffnen, damit die PDF-Datei angezeigt wird.
6. Auswertebericht mit einem PDF-Reader ansehen, ausdrucken, archivieren oder per E-Mail
versenden. Benützen Sie kein PDF-Kreierungsprogramm, um den PDF-Auswertebericht zu
speichern, ansonsten könnten die versteckten Rohdaten zerstört werden!
7. Abhängig von den gewählten Konfigurations-Einstellung, kann der LIBERO durch erneutes
drücken der «START/Transit» Taste ein weiterer Messzyklus gestartet werden.
Wichtige Hinweise
Batterie
LIBERO wird mit Lithium-Metall-Batterien betrieben.
Bitte beachten Sie folgende Hinweise:
a) Entsorgung gemäss WEEE-Richtlinie (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, 2002/96/EC)
b) Temperaturen über 100°C können die Batterie zerstören. Geräte mit Batterien nicht ins Feuer
werfen: Explosionsgefahr!
c) Batterien nicht kurzschliessen und nicht aufladen: Explosionsgefahr!
d) Batterien nicht mechanisch belasten oder auseinandernehmen.
e) Batterien sind von Kindern fernzuhalten.
f) Die Batterielebensdauer ist beendet, sobald die Anzeige «Bat.End» blinkt. Das Gerät läuft
noch weiter, muss jedoch innerhalb von 30 Tagen ersetzt werden. Der Auswertebericht kann
jederzeit mit Hilfe der Konfigurationssoftware ausgelesen werden, selbst wenn sich die
Anzeige «EoL» (End of Life) anzeigt oder ausgeschaltet ist.
Sicherheitshinweis
LIBERO misst die Umgebungstemperatur und nicht die Qualität der überwachten Güter. Zweck ist
die Anzeige, ob eine Prüfung der Produktqualität erforderlich ist. Beim Einsatz unter speziellen
Umgebungsbedingungen ist folgendes zu beachten:
a) IR-Strahlung (Wärme) und Heissdampf kann die Gehäusebeschichtung beschädigen.
b) Beim Einsatz unter Mikrowellen besteht Explosionsgefahr der Batterie.
c) Röntgen-Strahlen können den Datenlogger beschädigen.
Haftung
Der Hersteller kann nicht haftbar gemacht werden für:
a) Den Einsatz des Geräts ausserhalb des spezifizierten Temperaturbereichs.
b) Alle Ansprüche, die aus unsachgemässer Lagerung und/oder unsachgemässem Gebrauchs des
Gerätes entstehen.
c) Jegliche Probleme im Zusammenhang mit der Temperaturregeleinrichtung.
d) Die Qualität der überwachten Güter.
e) Fehlerhafte Messwerte, falls das Gerät mit entladener Batterie betrieben wird, d.h. wenn auf
der Anzeige «Bat.End» blinkt.

Configuration / Mise en service
a) Appareils neufs sont livrés en mode «ConF» ou «Strt». Si l'appareil est en mode «ConF» il doit
être configuré avant la première mise en action. Si l'appareil est en mode «Strt» il peut être
démarré tout-de-suite par pression de la touche «START/Transit».
ou
Si une temporisation est configurée, l'affichage montera:
b) Le logiciel liberoCONFIG ainsi que le mode d'emploi peuvent être téléchargé gratuitement à partir
du site Internet www.elpro.com/downloads.
c) Le logiciel liberoCONFIG permet de mettre des informations supplémentaires, le mode
d'enregistrement, l'intervalle de mesure, les zones d'alarme, etc. Les données entrées peuvent
être sauvegardées comme profil de configuration et en suite mis sur d'autre appareil.
d) Pour mettre un LIBERO activé en mode de configuration presser simultanément pendant trois (3)
secondes les touches «START/Transit» et «STOP/Arrived». Mettre LIBERO dans l'interface USB
dans les 10 secondes et démarrer l'outil de configuration.
Emploi
1. Presser la touche «START/Transit» pour deux (2) secondes, pour marquer le démarrage du cycle
de mesure, l'état d'enregistrement «Logging» clignote et l'état de transport change à «Transit».
OK = Les critères d'alarme n'étaient pas violés
pendant le cycle de mesure.
2. Emballer LIBERO avec la marchandise.
3. A la destination: Déballer LIBERO.
4. Presser la touche «STOP/Arrived» pour deux (2) secondes pour marquer la fin du cycle de mesure,
l'état change à «Arrived».

5. Créer le rapport d'évaluation (PDF):
Mettre LIBERO dans l'interface USB du PC. L'écran montre «PdF». En 15 secondes, le rapport
d'évaluation est automatiquement généré et affiché dans l'Explorer. Si la fonction «démarrage
automatique» n'est pas activé, ouvrez le «lecteur LIBERO» sous «poste de travail» et par double-
clique, le document PDF s'affiche.
6. Le rapport d'évaluation est lisible avec un lecteur PDF et il peut être imprimé, archivé ou envoyé
par e-mail. N'utilisez jamais un programme de création PDF pour sauvegarder le rapport
d'évaluation, autrement les données brutes cachées seront détruites.
7. Dépendant des paramètres de configuration choisis, LIBERO peut être redémarré. Par simple
pression de la touche «START/Transit» un cycle de mesure additionnel est démarré.
Indications importantes
Batterie
LIBERO est exploité avec des batteries Lithium métal. Veuillez respecter les indications suivantes:
a) Traitements des déchets conformément aux directives WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment, 2002/96/EC)
b) Températures au-dessous de 100°C peuvent détruire la batterie. Ne jeter pas les batteries dans le
feu: Danger d'explosion!
c) Ne pas court-circuiter et ne pas charger les batteries: Danger d'explosion!
d) Ne pas charger mécaniquement les batteries ou les démonter.
e) Écarter les batteries des enfants.
f) La durée de vie des batteries est terminée aussitôt que l'annonce «Bat.End» clignote. L'appareil
continue à tourner et doit toutefois être remplacé dans un délai de 30 jours. Le rapport d'évalua-
tion peut être fait à tout moment, même si l'affichage montre «EoL» (End of Life) ou est éteint.
Informations de sécurité
LIBERO mesure la température ambiante mais ne détermine pas la qualité des produits surveillés.
Son but est d'indiquer qu'une analyse de la qualité du produit transporté serait recommandée. A
l'emploi sous des conditions d'environnement spéciales, veuillez observer ce qui suit:
a) Rayonnement radioélectrique (chaleur) et vapeur chaude peuvent endommager le revêtement
du boîtier.
b) A l'application sous des micro-ondes, le danger d'explosion de la batterie existe.
c) Des rayons peuvent endommager l'enregistreur de température.
Responsabilité
Le producteur ne peut pas être rendu responsable pour:
a) L'emploi de l'appareil en dehors du domaine de température spécifié.
b) Toutes les exigences qui naissent de stockage inadéquat et/ou d'inadéquate utilisation de
l'appareil.
c) Tous les problèmes reliés au système régulateur de température.
d) La qualité des produits surveillés.
e) Valeurs mesurées défectueuses si l'appareil est exploité avec la batterie déchargée,
c.-à-d. si l'affichage «Bat.End» clignote.
