Thedetergent dispenseris located in the center of

the dishwasherdoor. It has two compartments.The
main wash compartment is found insidethe detergent
dispenser.Toopen, pressthe blue button on the side of
the dispenser.The pre-wash compartment is on the lid of
the detergent dispenser.Usethe pre-wash compartment
only when your water is extremely hard or when you have
a heavy soiledload.

Youmay usetablet,powder,liquidor gelautomatic
dishwasher d etergent.Makesureyou useonlydetergents
specifically labeledfor usein automaticdishwashers. Never
useliquidhand dishdetergentin an automaticdishwasher.
Sudsing and poorwash performancewill resultwith the useof
improperdetergents.
Detergents shouldbe storedin a dry locationand in their
originalcontainerto preventlossof effectiveness. Place
detergentin the cupjust priorto startingthe dishwasher a nd
thenclosethe cover.Thecoverwill openduringthe wash
cycle.
Filling the Detergent Dispenser
GErecommends usingdetergentin tablet or packetform.
Independent t estinghasshownthis form of detergentisvery
effectivein the dishwasher. C ascade®All-in-1 ActianPacs

are an exampleofthis type of detergent.Simplyput a tablet
or packetintothe mainwash compartmentand closethe
detergentcup cover.Please noticethat the tablet or packet
must be placedin the mainwash compartmentof the
detergentcup. if thetablet or packetistossedin the bottomof
the dishwasher, t hedetergentwill be flusheddownthe drain
in a veryshort periodof time and willthus bewasted.Wash
performancewill bevery poor asa result.
tfyou chooseto usedetergentin powder,liquidor gelform,
the amountof detergent y ou usewill bedeterminedby the
hardness of your water,the temperatureofyour water,and
thefood soilload insidethe dishwasher. C ontactyourwater
companyto get informationaboutthe hardness of the water
in your area.Water hardness ismeasuredin grainspergallon.
Usethis informationand the tableaboveto determinethe

glassware. E tching is a permanentcloudiness inyour
