Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Atlantic FB3200/FB4600 Fountain Basin. Before using
this basin please take a moment to review this manual. Atlantic Fountain Basins create
beautiful water features with underground water storage and secure, hidden access to
pumps and plumbing. Massively strong internal structure offers stable support for even
heavy decorative features such as Aura Vases, Hammered Brass Bowls and Basalt Columns.
Generous recessed plumbing channels safeguard plumbing as large as 1½" in the center
channel and around the edge, and up to three lines of 1" PVC Flex tubing all the way
around. Fountain Basins also accommodate features that lower upkeep and maintenance,
such as electrical conduit recesses to protect cords, and automatic fill valves to keep
Fountain Basins filled with water automatically.
FBKIT1/FBKIT3 plumbing kits and TidalWave TT-Series and MD-Series pumps are designed
to work seamlessly with FB3500 and FB4700 Fountain Basins to simplify installations. FBKIT1
contains a discharge elbow, union, valve, fittings and tubing needed to connect a single Aura
Vase, Hammered Brass Bowl or other fountain piece. FBKIT3 contains a discharge elbow,
3-Way Diverter, ¾" fittings and tubing needed to connect up to three Basalt Columns or other
fountain pieces.
BEFORE INSTALLING BASIN: Installing the pump, plumbing kit and Automatic Fill first, before
installing the Basin in the ground, will greatly simplify Fountain Basin installation. Follow the
plumbing kit instructions for pump installation. Install the AF1000 Autofill where indicated
on the outside of the pump chamber. See Autofill Kit Instructions for details. We recommend
watching the appropriate installation videos on www.atlantic-oase.com before continuing.
Installation
1. Begin by excavating a hole at least 8
inches larger at the bottom than the
basin. If the Basin will be surrounded by
soil or mulch, set it 12½" deep. This will
leave the Fountain Basin slightly higher
than the ground around it, keeping
soil, mulch or gravel from washing in.
If setting the Fountain Basin within a
paver patio, the top rim of the basin
should be set at least 1" lower than the
top of the pavers. This will help retain the
decorative material after it is installed.
Angle the sides of the hole outward
slightly to aid in backfilling. Be careful
not to dig too deep. Tamp and level the
bottom of the hole.
2. Install optional 1½" conduit for light and
pump cords now if desired, lining the
conduit up with the molded recess in
the side of the Fountain Basin. Cap the
conduit with the included cord seal to
keep dirt and water out.
3. Connect the Autofill to your choice of
water source using either the ¾" Garden
Hose Adapter, ½" rigid PVC slip fitting or
½" flexible tubing adapter (included in
AF1000 Auto Fill Kit).
