NEWA Pond Heater is an "ANti-ice" pond heater ideal for maintaining an unfrozen area around the unit (Fig. 4). It
is for outdoor use only, and the manufacturer declines any responsability for all other uses. If it used for any other
purpose, it is not covered by the manufacurer's liability.
IMPORTANT SAFETY REGULATIONS.
IMPORTANT: To avoid any type of accident carefully adhere to, in addition to the simplest safety measures, the
following warnings:
IMPORTANT: The current symbol on the product label indicates that it is necessary to carefully read this
operating instruction manual before operating, using and carrying out maintenance on the appliance.
NEWA Pond Heater is in conformity with official safety standards EN 60335-2-74.
1. CAUTION: This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not
play with the appliance because this is not a toy. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children without supervision.
2. WARNING: turn off and disconnect all the electrical equipment in the pond before
carrying out any maintenance tasks.
3. The power cord must not be repaired or replaced. If it is damaged, replace the
entire product.
4. THE HEATER MUST ALWAYS BE USED WITH THE FLOAT PROVIDED, IN ORDER TO
ENSURE THAT THE HEATER IS IMMERSED TO THE CORRECT LEVEL.
5. WARNING: Always switch off and disconnect the appliance at least 30 minutes
before any maintenace or control and before pulling it out of the water.
6. WARNING: This heater is provided with a thermal protector switching it off in
case of overheating or malfunctioning (out of water) and it operates to protect the
appliance. To restart the heater , disconnect the plug from the power supply and
wait for at least 30 minutes, then reconnect the plug to the socket, making sure the
heater is placed correctly.
7. WARNING: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal
cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device,
such as a timer or a separate remote-control system or connected to a circuit that is
regulary switched on and off by the utility (Fig. 1).
8. Do not plug the appliance into the main supply until it is in the water. After
unplugging, the heating element will remain hot and should not be touched or
placed on combustible surfaces.
9. WARNING: The heater must be connected through a Ground fault circuit interrupter,
having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
10. Check the voltage of the appliance and ensure it corresponds to the main power supply.
11. When the heater is plugged into the mains, ensure that the lowest part of the lead is lower than the socket, to
avoid any drops of water that are on the lead flowing into the socket (Fig. 2).
12. Do not place the supply cable underground, but follow the installation instructions prescribed by the local
regulations in force, and consult a qualified installer and electrician.
13. When installing the appliance, do not use the supply cable to lift it.
14. Do not use corrosive or abrasive liquids when operating this appliance.
