The Viega stainless IPS to CTS transition
coupling is for joining stainless steel pipe
only. It is not meant for joining dissimilar
metals, such as galvanized to copper pipe.

For the IPS side of the coupling (the larger
side), MegaPress jaws/rings must be
used for presses. For the CTS side of the
coupling, ProPress jaws must be used for presses.
The IPS side of the coupling must be used
with ASTM A312 pipe. The CTS side of
the coupling must be used with Propress
stainless tubing. The pipe/tube must be smooth;
free of indentations, pits, and deformations; and
free of dirt, debris, rust, scale, oil, and grease.
Cut the pipe square. Do not deform the pipe when

cutting.
2 Remove burr from inside and outside of pipe/
tube and prep to proper insertion depth using a
preparation tool or fine grit sandpaper.
3 Illustration demonstrates proper fit of the
components inside the press hub.

Mark proper insertion depth as indicated by
the following insertion depth charts. Improper
insertion depth may result in an improper seal. It
is recommended that the depth marking be visible
on the completed assembly.
