GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink is recommended for use with GEARWRENCH Tethering accessories with loops or tails as a connection
point, that can be clinched or choked (GEARWRENCH parts 88757, 88759, 88877, 88774). DO NOT use GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink with
GEARWRENCH D-Ring Web parts 88751, 88752, 88753.
GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink has a maximum weight load limit of the following:
88741 - Tether Cold Shrink 3/4" - 1-1/2" (Maximum weight load limit of 5lbs 2.26kg)
88742 - Tether Cold Shrink 1-1/4" - 1-3/4" (Maximum weight load limit of 10lbs 4.53kg)
88743 - Tether Cold Shrink 1-3/4" - 2-1/2" (maximum weight load limit of 15lbs 6.80kg)
Installation:
1. Measure the diameter of the tool handle the and use the appropriate GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink size that corresponds to the
diameter.
2. Choke the Elastic Loop or Tool Tail onto the tool by sliding it around the tool's shaft and snug the barrel lock down tightly if
applicable. Ensure this positioned as far up the shaft of the tool as possible where it will not impact use and at least 1"/2.5cm
from the end of the tool
3. Position the cold shrink over the tool and tail leaving the choked portion of the tail exposed above the Shrink. Ensure the entire
face of the rubber shrink is over the tool
4. While holding Shrink Trap in place, pull the inner core's loose end so that it begins to pull through the center of the trap
a. The rubber will begin to contract down over the tail and the tool
b. Continue to pull the inner core through the center of trap until it is completely removed
WARNINGS (GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink):
- GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink is Not Personal Protective Equipment
- Always use GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink with the recommended length of tethering accessories
- Do not use GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink as part of a tethering system around moving or rotating equipment
- GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink will not support human weight as part of a tether connection point
- Inspect GEARWRENCH Cold Shrink for wear before each use. Do not use if evidence of wear.
