- Page 2 SECTION 1: PREPARATION FOR POWER CABLES 1. Determine the working length (the Figure 1 Figure 2 length of conductors required inside the enclosure or device). Remove a portion of the outer jacket to expose the armor, cut armor using a hacksaw (Figure 1). CAUTION: Do not nick or cut the conductor insulation.
