Operation
The measurement result is only valid for the time and location of the measurement and depends
upon the measurement range respectively the concentration. Therefore, the appropriate
measuring method must be used to determine the actual concentration. If, before starting the
measurement, there are doubts about the existing concentration, please use a different
measuring method. You will find additional information in the chip's instruction manual.
When the measured value is outside the chip's measuring range, the range limits are indicated
together with either the symbol < or >.
When the concentration is below the lower range level, then the following display appears:
< lower measuring range
This display also appears when the hazardous substance is not in the environment.
When the concentration is above the measurement range's maximum value, then the following
will appear:
a) > upper measuring range – the concentration is under laboratory conditions less than
2 times the upper range level
or
b) > upper measuring range,
< lower measuring range – the concentration is more than 2 times the upper range level
or an incorrect ppm-value.

Concluding the measurement or performing a further
measurement
(DataRecorder set to "Off" or "Auto" mode)
Move sliding switch to position 1.
The following are then displayed alternately:
The substance to be measured
AND
the prompt to move the sliding switch either to position 0 for removal of the chip or to position 2
for a further measurement.
DataRecorder set to "Auto" mode:
The measured result will be stored automatically without location code and without confirmation
from the user in "Auto" mode.
See "Displaying stored results", page 56, for information on displaying the saved measured
values.
See "Deleting stored results", page 57, for information on deleting all saved measured values.
